长期从事物种灭绝风险与保护及植被生态研究, 开展了落叶阔叶林、季雨林、亚高山针叶林、灌丛等植被调查。主持科技基础性专项课题、国家重点研发计划子课题等项目8项。发表论文60多篇, 出版专著6部, 获教育部科技进步奖2次。
