Organized by the Institute of Botany CAS (IBCAS), Sino-Mongolia workshop on vegetation adaptation and function in Northeast Asia grassland was held in Beijing on May 20-21, 2014. The workshop aims to review the progress in the cooperative research between IBCAS and the Institute of Botany MAS (IBMAS), and to promote further collaboration. Six scientists from IBMAS, more than 30 scientists and graduate students from IBCAS, and Mr. Huang Sai from Bureau of International Co-operation CAS attended the workshop.
Dr. Ge Song, the deputy director of IBCAS, gave his warm welcome to all the participants. He briefly introduced IBCAS, and hoped that the cooperative research between IBCAS and IBMAS could be further promoted in the future.
Dr. Ochirbat ENKHTUYA, the scientific secretary of IBMAS, and Dr. Huang Yao, the director of the State Key Laboratory of Vegetation and Environmental Change (LVEC) introduced IBMAS and LVEC, respectively. Participants presented their research interests and progress, and discussed future cooperation. Based on the principles of equality and mutual benefits, scientists from both sides reached an agreement on future collaborative research, data sharing, students exchanging and young scientists training.
Huang Yao made closing remarks. He appreciated all the participants for their contribution to this workshop, and expected to be fruitful in the future collaborative research.
Scientists from IBMAS also visited the LVEC, the Key Laboratory of Plant Molecular Physiology and the Herbarium during the workshop.
