Prof. Zhenying Huang, faculty of the State Key Laboratory of Vegetation and Environmental Change, Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Sciences, has been appointed as the Editor-in-Chief of the Elsevier journal "Plant Physiology and Biochemistry" (PPB), an official journal of the Federation of European Societies of Plant Biology (FESPB) and the French Society of Plant Biology.
PPB publishes original contributions in the various fields of plant physiology (biochemistry, physiology, structure, genetics, plant-microbe interactions, etc.) at diverse levels of integration (molecular, subcellular, cellular, organ, whole plant, environmental). According to ISI Journal Citation Reports, PPB has been rated amongst the top 20% journals in plant science for its impact factor 2.838 and 5-year impact factor 3.023 in 2011.
The main research interest of Prof. Huang is the ecophysiological mechanisms in seed dormancy and germination. He has published more than 40 papers in international journals, such as "Plant Cell Environ"., "Perspect". "Plant Ecol". "Evol. Syst"., "BMC Plant Biol"., "Ann. Bot". He is also the editorial board member of "Chinese Journal of Plant Ecology" and "Plant Diversity and Resources" (formerly "Acta Botanica Yunnanica").
